Embracing Jesus

“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but asHe whocalled you is holy, you alsobe holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy”. 1st Peter 1:13-16

Where are the burning holy ones? They are not consumed by the fire of the Lord but embrace the holy refining fire of Jesus and His judgment that they truly may be a shinning lamp on a hill…

Grace is the first step of our Christian walk. It is not the last step but just the first revelation… It lead us to the gift of savlation. Unearned, unmerited favor and love… its the revelation of Jesus and therein
our acceptance of His finishing bloody work of the Cross that we may be redeemed in spirit…

But redeemption of our soul (fleshy patterns of thoughts and behaviour) and our past, is the life long surrendur and revelation becoming more like Christ… We are not Christlike immediately when we receive His spirit…. That’s why much of the Church are full of hypocrisy… people prance around with unredeemed minds and behaviour yet they are not yielded to the refining glory of the Holy Spirit…

Mercy is the revelation of our incredibly sinful lives and God’s kindness not to destroy us with all His wrath because He is a perfect holy God. Its the gut wretching understanding of His kindness and love that leads us to love and obedience… Grasping and understanding His Mercy reveals His great plan for bringing forth a pure and spotless bride at the end of the age… Embracing mercy is another step in the ladder of Christlikeness and maturity because through the revelation of His mercy, you stop critizing and fault finding in others… You look at others not “by calling the kettle black” but through the lens of Christ’s love… You heart aches with your own sinfulness and inadequacy and are grateful for the Lord’s kindness in your life that He has lead you to repentance and set free from the strongholds of sin…
His mercy breaks bondages of sin….and gives you the supernatural power of love for others in similar sin…

Why is mercy so important?

The Lord is callingforth His church unto holiness again… His heart has never changed in this matter, but we as the church have successfully conformed our theology to our culture… Comfort and compromise has replaced God’s throne of righteousness and justice…

Holiness is Christianity 101…. Holiness is not hermit living, its not legalistic, its not poverty, and its not do’s and don’ts…. It’s love motivated, its grateful for correction and judgment, its chosen more than wealth or other worldly pleasures… Psalm 19:7-14 David’s heart describes it perfectly.

In holiness, we are free to live in wholeness and a free spirit, free from anxiety and spin, free from false identities and lies we believe, free from painful patterns that hurt those around us, free from chronic addictive activity that reap self destruction…

Holiness is birthed in our lives by embracing Jesus and the knowledge and revelation of who He is…
Study, drink, breath Jesus…. Embracing Jesus is not grasping the wind or occassionaly reading the Word. It is encountering the Man, it is revelation with experiencing His presence… Embracing is suffering with Christ in His suffering…. Its crucifying your flesh and destructive patterns (strongholds) and laying them at His feet and utter surrendur…. Its asking the Holy Spirit for humility and the courage to choose it when your pride has been pricked and revealed…

Holiness is confession of sin to friends and sincere repentance before the Lord. It is forgiveness of those who deeply hurt and wound us… Holiness lead people unto the revelation of the Father’s love for us…
Its His love that motivates us and its His love the keep us praying Psalm 19:7-14

Holiness is the holy fear of the Lord… where we quake in His presence from woeful in adequancy, from our unbridled tongue and constant thoughts not glorifying the Lord… the fear of the Lord keeps our soul in check with the Holy Spirit… Its a knowing and feeling of rawness as our spirit is charged and our flesh crucified.

Pray with me: Holy Spirit, I desire to be holy, but I am woefully inadequate to go there myself. Lead me to Jesus Himself… Lead me by your spirit of wisdom and revelation, Reveal the sin in my life blocking me from seeing and experiencing the Father’s love, Set me free from the destructive patterns of my mind, guard me from my secrets sins, provide me a sincere believer who I can confess my sins to and grant the grace of repentance. I want to be free from the entanglements of sin and compromising sin… Grant me the holy fear of the Lord.
