I wanted to give you a quick update from the Batz family here inKC. We are getting settled in our Kansas City home and routine,which seems to really take time since our move in Sept ’11. Madeline is in a Day School program two days a week. We’re fortunate to get in this particular program and it’s just 5 minutes down the road. Being that she’s a socialite extreme, we are happy to give her this outlet and for Cristina and I to actually get sometime together.

We are also considering soccer for her this spring at the Y. Will let you know if we do.Well, in an effort to have a centralized location of current pictures and videos  I wanted to invite you to check out our NEW Video and Pictures tab.

Cristina is doing well. She’s enjoying the sunny days here in our sunroom and getting her mommy quiet time as often as possible. She’s been busy with home decorating, the endless laundry,  and a lot more square feet of cleaning dust bunnies. Spring garden planning is under way. An evening class with Ancient Paths & Michelle Seidler. And her life long journey for finding the perfect fitting pair of jeans!

Also as a family we’ve enjoyed weekly organic fresh milk, beef, and chicken from a local farm, learning how to make kombucha & water kefir, and explore all the ways you can keep a toddler busy, laughing, and learning… We also are enjoying the EGS Friday night service at IHOP and our having family Shabbat. Saturdays is full pancakes, painting or other crafts, and resting. We find our selves having Saturdays everyday lately. This is changing as I step back into busy season.

I feel like I’ve been on a three month vacation. With the recruiting business slower during the holiday season, I took time to seek the Lord, ask questions, rest in His goodness, and deploy marketing strategies for the coming busy season. I am excited for what this year holds both in business but also for our family, the nation and the much foreboding of elections, world events, and other prophesied events.

The time is now to know truly who God is…to encounter Him, to know His heart, His ways, His love…To be a friend of God. To be one He can trust. He shares His secrets with His friends. To encounter the knowledge of God and not trendy slogans, not a social gospel, a wealth gospel or a safe gospel.  And not just believe what one person says or what someone has said a long time ago.

Its time to ask God to encounter our hearts.

The Lord delights in blessing us. Pure and simple. Walking in increase and blessing is about encountering His heart of goodness, joy, and Father’s love.

I was reading in Deuteronomy 14 and was overwhelmed by His heart for us (even through tithing).

²² “You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. ²³ And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide (His Presence), the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. ²⁴ But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carrythe tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the LORD your God has blessed you, ²⁵ then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses. ²⁶ And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.²⁷ You shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
²⁸ “At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates.²⁹ And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

I highlighted key words that speak of His heart. I knows there’s more in the passage, but I want to emphasize certain ones today.  Notice that tithing in this section of scripture has more to do with delighting in the Lord, His presence and His increase and goodness than it does with giving away ten percent.

The journey of wealth generation (Deut 8:18) is about Daddy Daddy revealing His heart and delighting over us while His children accomplish His purposes. Wealth is not about us;  its about His Family and our family.

(Wealth generation is also not about giving it all away. That’s poverty. The poor spend every dollar they make and never have enough. Rather its about generations, partnership, and blessing. But I digress….)

Do you see in verse 23 that you are to EAT before the Lord. I don’t know about you but I love to eat. Its my 32 birthday today (crazy huh), and I am going have my first $100 burger at Blanc today. I am going to EAT before my Lord and my family rejoicing in His goodness. Do you know it gives Him pleasure? He’s saying “Dat’s my boy!”.

Folks, enjoy the increase and blessing of the Lord! He created us to celebrate us and delight in His goodness… We were created to enjoy all of His creation. Prophetically speaking, in the days to come, the Lord will be setting us free from our distractions and we will have greater freedom to rest in true Celebration. There will be a resurgence of the Feasts of the Lord. There will be day long (& multiple day) community gatherings of joy, dancing, games, and lots of FOOD. And the Lord presence will rest there because we will truly delight in His goodness. We don’t know how to celebrate. And the Lord’s heart is sadden over of seriousness and half hearted parties.  I digressed again…

Okay so in verse 26 we have my favorite phrase…“get whatever your heart desires and rejoice in Me”. Again the Lord is not looking down at us and saying no don’t you get that nice thing…go to the Dollar Store or to McDonalds because that’s cheaper and better use of MY money. The Lord is NOT cheap. He lavishes His love on us. And if we asked for the Cadillac, you bet its in His heart to give it to you. In Luke 11:11 the Father’s heart is revealed. And He’s been speaking to me like this.  “Chris just ask. Really Lord? Yes, Chris. Just ask.”

If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?

Folks, remember whatever He does…its about the Lord’s heart for us even wealth.

And also remember our Tithe is really a feast before the Lord… Its a celebration of His goodness and increase…and we get to party with friends and family. He wants us to enjoy Him and His presence.

Some of you may know that Cristina and I participated in a 3 day event with Leroy Dillion, just the 3 of us recently. This was an investment in our marriage and in our hearts. It was an opportunity to get our house clean, get our hearts free, and experience true intimacy.

Like anyone else, Cristina and I walked in hurts and pains of the heart from our past and brought this into our marriage. Then while married, our first 3 years have been eventful and the honeymoon phased was quick to end. We lacked intimacy and trust in our marriage. We struggled with fear, depression, doubt, and many other common emotions when things are rocky.

But Jesus is so kind and faithful…

He said He would never leave us no forsake us. That He has come to set the captives free (Body, soul, spirit, and mind).

After 3 days with Leroy Dillion and by the awesome work of the Cross, our hearts are now set free to love without hindrance or hangup. Our houses are entirely swept clean, and we are truly free. It feels amazing! We can now say that we have fool proofed our marriage and do not have to live with hurt of our past.

We think of freedom through many different lenses. Many of us think we are free but live am impoverished life choosing to eat crumbs living emotionally empty and protected not knowing love. Rather there is a feast available before us… a feast of life filled with meaning, love and joy!

Many Christians think that since they accepted Jesus all is good. Everything will be great, and there is nothing to worry about any more. The problem with that is although we’ve accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior we’ve inherited all the consequences and hurts of sin that still need to be dealt with from our choices, the choices of others, and the choices of our family before us. The Lord still holds us responsible for that. There is so much for us on this side of Heaven! 

True freedom is embracing a lifestyle of confession, forgiveness, and repentance. This cancels the power of sin over our life. This is the power of the Cross of Christ. It’s our keys to getting free and living a full and whole life!

Okay everyone. Here’s the long waited news. We are relocating back to Kansas City September 2011.

It’s been a tremendous joy and special two years for Cristina, Madeline and I here in Houston

especially our time with Jim and Carol, and Carol’s family. We will miss everyone dearly. We’ll miss those we’ve made friendships with at church and at the Maas Nursery. Certainly we will be back throughout the years to come.

Where we are heading is more a matter of where the wind blows. We just hoist the sail and follow.

I am devouring Shawn’s book: Key’s to Heaven’s Economy. This is a game changing book for me. I cannot look at life the same now. This is a book of the year for me. If we (you) only knew, what the Father’s desire was it would ruin you for Heaven. 

Recently I’ve been getting wrecked by some of his messages so I had to get his book where He was visited by the angel who is the Minister of Finance of Heaven. He shares about Heaven’s plans and perspectives for the earth. He shares about creative miracles and about the Lord’s desire for every sphere of society (Entertainment, business, politics, education, etc.) to have people who operate with Heaven’s mandate to bring Jesus His full inheritance.

Shawn is incredibly non-religious and refreshing. He has authentically encountered Heaven and the Father’s love. He’s carrying a mandate to provoke people for Heaven, to hunger for Heaven. May I also say that he is incredibly humble, and his language and heart always points to Jesus.
